Dr. Himebauch is a graduate of the University of Delaware and the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He completed a Master of Science in Clinical Epidemiology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania in 2022. Dr. Himebauch completed a Pediatrics residency and Pediatric Critical Care Medicine fellowship training at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). He has been an attending physician in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at CHOP since 2012 and is currently on faculty at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and is currently an Assistant Professor of Critical Care and Pediatrics.
Dr. Himebauch has expertise in point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) use in pediatric critical illness and is a leader in the CHOP ECMO Center. His clinical research focuses on the roles of pulmonary hypertension and right ventricular dysfunction in acute and chronic respiratory failure, the use of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) for respiratory failure, as well as the implementation and evaluation of bedside clinical technologies, including POCUS, echocardiography, and electrical impedance tomography (EIT) in the clinical care of critically ill and injured children.
